The last PCS recruitment notification in Uttarakhand was issued on August 10, 2021. Subsequently, the preliminary examination took place on April 3, 2022, followed by the main examination from February 23 to 26, 2023. Despite these efforts, there has been no further recruitment since then. The delay has resulted in candidates exceeding the age limit and missing out on opportunities.
Presently, the proposed inclusion of two Uttarakhand-based papers in the syllabus awaits government approval. However, the issuance of a new PCS advertisement remains stalled due to pending approvals at the government level. Commission officials reveal that the file is awaiting clearance from the Chief Minister’s office before proceeding with the notification process.
Concerns have been raised by candidates regarding the imminent implementation of the general election’s code of conduct, which could further delay recruitment procedures. In response, youth activists are intensifying their social media campaign, emphasizing that failure to initiate new PCS recruitment will lead to a boycott of the voting process.
